We are starting to get cities and stadiums for the Exclusive Football League (EFL). As they seem to have been having actual tryouts, at least in some states, this may be a good sign.
Florida - Ocala (Booster Stadium) Texas - Houston (Delmar Stadium) Arkansas - North Little Rock (Charging Wildcat Stadium - Tentative) New Mexico - Albuquerque (TBA) California - Sacramento (TBA) Arizona - Sedona (Sedona Stadium)

The only one I've seen on Facebook is Team Florida putting out that there are tryouts. If the other ones are out there I'm not seeing much activity. Then again the EFL website isn't one I'm stopping by much either I guess. Maybe have to check it out.

When does the season start and what teams are even in the league?

According to their website, the league kicks off in March, 2012. It would not surprise me if we don't see something like what happened in the SFL last year and have some of the teams on the website don't quietly disappear or don't play until 2013. My guess is that the teams that will play are the ones who have already listed locations, plus one or two more (North Carolina and maybe one more).

We'll see. A lot of the poser leagues got to the tryout stage, took the money, and shut down before they could lose any money. I'll believe it when training camps open.

yeah because um, remember they said they are playing some player $1000 a game? How are they getting this money? We do have to admit that figure came from an offensive line coach on a local football board. So it may be not the most reliable, just it was the only figure out there. There is an interesting comment on the EFL VP's bio: "The EFL, is where a player is taught that nothing is entitled. Simply put; Exclusive Football is nothing less than the "EARN IT LEAGUE."" Make of that what you will.

There was a message on the Texas Facebook page that teams could sign players after December 12. Arkansas is the only one I've seen actually giving any names.
A few more teams seem to be having tryouts now. There are still a few with nothing.
I hope this doesn't bore you all. I'm just posting as I see things to keep things alive until we get more action after the new year. (We hope!)

Hopefully there will be lots to talk about after the first of the year as spring approaches. If the SFL and even half these other leagues come to fruition this forum will be a much busier place.

The players will be paid $350 per game. Why is there no national media news on the EFL? Nothing in the national media, nothing on the net. Kim Mosby just fired the Arizona GM. Also, if you were going to start a new pro football league, would you place your Arizona franchise in Sedona? Sedona has a population of 10,000.

I really do think it is near impossible to gain any traction as a new football league from the media when you first start. Quite frankly, people do not care and that is just how it is. Play a couple years, you might get some news write ups...

Besides, leagues come and go, many of which die without even playing a game. More coverage will come if and when they actually take the field.
Out of curiosity, where did the $350 per game figure come from? Do we have an ELF insider on here?
