Ok, well....1 game in the books for the EFL, it's a start. For me that is the turning point when people tout "new leagues." It all means nothing to me till some uniforms get dirty. Congrats to the EFL on at least getting this far. So many other "leagues" never play even one down.

According to Davon Gardner's FB page, the players received a text message that the NC vs Penn game was cancelled. l That's what I suspected as well... I found one of the Pennsylvania players's Facebook page, and it went from talking up Saturday's game in the days before, then when it came time to play, the only status was basically that he was going to the gym. So basically, we've gotten to this point and the EFL, out of about 13 originally announced teams, two of them are on the field and playing. Hey, at least Lester Ricard is still collecting a paycheck. Next week we only get one game, New Mexico Vs Arkansas. Based on nothing in particular other than seeing FB pages,, I have a feeling this one will be a go. We shall see. I though we might get internet radio at least, as Arkansas had a deal with Creative Sports Network, but now I can't get their website to come up.

yeah, but most of the leagues do not play that one down are leagues like the UFL where they sign big name players and pay a good amount of money. Leagues like the EFL and SFL are on the same level as indoor where they pay their players very little.
Do we even know if the EFL players are getting paid? I haven't even seen a roster

OK, update on the Pennsylvania vs North Carolina game. According to a post from a NC player on the EFL Facebook page, the game was cancelled due to "bad weather". They are supposed to make it up this week.

I suspect it's more along the lines of "cash shortfall."

It now looks like there will be no games played this weekend, and there's a note on the Arkansas Facebook page saying their game was cancelled due to "League restructuring". Has the EFL played its only game? Time will tell.

Welcome socal. So, is team California the team that is being considered for the SFL? It sounds like you guys are ready to go. You just need a league to play in. Where were you going to play?

The Louisiana/Texas game was cancelled. Louisiana ended up playing a local semi-pro team, winning 25-20. The league will be folding here shortly. Team California had a full roster of 60 players, was practicing 3 days a week, and was ready to go. Unfortunately our game with Arkansas was cancelled. We did have 1 UFL "refugee". Wow, so the only game the EFL played turns out not have even been a league game after all. What a huge disappointment for you to build a team and then have it all crumble. That sucks. Hope other opportunities come your way soon for you and your players, BTW welcome to the SFL board! Please continue to share your insight with us.

I am going to stick with Indoor Football, these outdoor leagues have been a joke. I see better run semi-pro leagues

Looks like the EFL is going to survive. Team California is staying.
