And yet another one! This group looks like its made up at least partly of people who were either fired from or left the EFL (lucky them!). They include Terrell Parham, former GM of Exclusive Georgia and Ray King, former GM of Exclusive Arizona. The website needs some work and has a few spelling errors, but I don't think it has been up long. However, they want to try for a May start! I get the impression that if the EFL goes bust, they may try to pick up some of the pieces, as I found this on the Exclusive Louisiana Facebook group. www.unitednationalfootballleague.com/

This is actually the second league in about 4 years to use this name. The last one (later renamed United National Gridiron League) was forced to change its name after the UFL and NFL got wind of it... too close to both. I suspect this one will have to change as well.
For those wondering, the UNGL was a league that never got past the tryout stage.

The UNGL has updated to a more professional looking website just since I posted the link. It looks like Team Louisiana from the EFL has joined them as the Louisiana Elite. There may be other defectors as well. They are planning eight teams, with real names! You can see some of the logos and one set of uni's on their facebook page.
They are going to have to hustle to make this work, but quite frankly they look way more professional than the ELF ever did.

So let me get this straight....the EFL played a total of one game and less then 2 weeks later some of its teams are defecting to a new, different league?

What's even better is the team that won the game is one one the defectors, and the team that lost is now pretending that the game never happened at all.

These guys make the SFL look like the model of stability.

Texas, Arkansas and Florida as far as I can tell. Louisiana and New Mexico are definitely out. North Carolina seems to have disappeared. Don't know about the rest.

Since we updated one league that escaped the EFL today, we might as well do the other. The UNFL is claiming eight teams (Arizona, Sacramento, New Mexico, Houston, Georgia, Carolina, Florida and Louisiana. They want to start camp May 20, with the first game on June 9. They are also supposed to have a new and better website soon.

And down it goes! The UNFL is announcing on their website page that they will not begin playing until 2013. This was due to "contracts were turn in late and other information requested was not turned in," If you go to their Facebook page, there is a battle arguing about who's fault this was. It looks rather nasty. www.unitednationalfootballleague.com/So with the SDFL seemingly only playing 1 game, the SFL may be it again for spring/summer football.
