The 2012 schedule is out and it's another SFL classic. 1. The Daytona Beach Racers are a travel team, they have no home games. 2. The Fort Myers Swampdogs have one home game (against Daytona), and play one less game than the rest of the league. They also play Ft Lauderdale in Ft Pierce. 3. Port St Lucie plays all but one game at home. Also, the first game (now June 2), Daytona vs Ft Laurderdale, is to be played in Port St Lucie. 4. Ft Lauderdale is playing six games, one more than everyone else. 5. The Ft Pierce Orange are gone! There is no explanation as to where they went. starsfootballleague.com/news/sfl-releases-playing-schedule-2012/

Huthwaite seems to be perpetually stuck in the "over promise-under deliver mode." It looks as though he was only able to secure 2 venues this year, Ft. Lauderdale and Port St. Lucie. I say only 2 cuz only one game is scheduled in Ft. Myers. Something tells me he;s just throwing a bone out there to make it look like they have more than 2 venues, and it will mysteriously change at the last minute to one of the other two. And it looks like he put the cart before the horse in Daytona, securing the team but not the venue. As far as the Orange are concerned, well.....firing their coach probably left them adrift too late to get reorganized. What a mess.

They should probably just play at small high school venues. This is nothing more than a semi pro league at this point.
