An idea just occurred to me. If the USFL really were to get going, do you think Pete Huthwaite would try to get a team or position in the league? He could come to them and say "I have experience in running a spring league, as well as setting up teams and finding talent." I don't know if they would take him, but you never know.
Any thoughts?

Not sure. So far Petey seems to be a one man show. Dont know if it's out of necessity or if he just doesn't "play well" with others. With the lack of transparency with the SFL, we will probably never learn how many investors have shown interest in the league, but found Huthwaite's terms to be too onerous to them. Or maybe he's a really easy guy to get along with but just cannot sway other investors to join him. But with the lack of other investors my guess would be he's a one man show for a reason.

I could see him trying-- or at least inquiring. His track record's decidedly mixed; while he certainly isn't making a run at the NFL by any measure (or, for that matter, even the small-time indoor leagues), he's already ahead of the posers like the UNGL, All-American Football League, EFL, Joe Faber's American Football League, and Michael Dwyer's original "New USFL".
It depends on how much he's invested in the SFL so far, and whether or not he could cooperate with others. But I could certainly see him taking the Barracudas (the most established team) to the New USFL. It's a spring pro "developmental" league, so they have the same basic mission.
