Well, Ft Lauderdale plays Daytona for the first SFL Championship tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.
But I think the real question is, does anyone care, or even notice? There is no press coverage of this event. The league's Facebook page has not been updated to reflect it, in fact it hasn't been updated since May. There is no indication on the website that the game will be streamed, and I probably wouldn't believe them if they told me it was. I doubt anyone will attend the game other than players and families.
For the last two year, the league has thrown out big plans of expansion, then ended up playing with half or less of the potential teams. This year they took a step forward by not changing the schedule in the middle of the season, but took several steps back by only having three teams!
The UFL now has a TV contract. There is the the potential of the NUSLF in 2013. Is it time to wind down Pete's little toy, and let it quietly go away?

did you really think that this would work? I mean nobody even hears about this if it not for the boards. that's how you don't do it like the SFL. If you have to look this hard for news nobody is following it.

Hard to tell... UNLESS... and this is a big *unless*... he's trying to get in on either of the two. Having a Florida team and a willing investor would be big for the UFL, as it fills a big market hole. It may be the only way for him to salvage this-- as far as being a viable professional league, it's been an absolute failure. (Amazingly they managed to get two of the SFL players onto NFL rosters, so it hasn't been a COMPLETE and TOTAL failure.)
They've beaten FTL-DBR to death-- this is their sixth matchup, and out of the twelve games this league has pulled off, fully half of them have been Racers-Barracudas matchups. I think the four of us that are still here have been having more fun picking on the league for its complete inability to handle press.
As for football, once I get out of work I'll be tuning into the Ti-Cats CFL game instead.

At least they thought they were supposed to be paid. No idea whether they really were or not. All our SFL insiders disappeared before play started.

It amazes me how Petey can miss even the simplest opportunities to generate excitement for his league. I mean how hard is it to put updates on your Facebook page? It's free, Petey, just type and hit "enter.' I give this tiny league credit for pulling off 2 seasons now. But I just don't get what the whole point of operating it is if you stay in the shadows.....
