As much a fan I am of the UFL and don't want to see it die the possibility exists that it might. And in any case even if it were to survive it's unlikely they would bring a franchise back from the dead. So with that in mind is it concievable that, in the event the UFL folds, the naming rights, the uniforms, the equipment, and everything else involing the Florida Tuskers remains gathering dust in a storage facility somewhere waiting for the highest bidder? Given that Orlando was their home, could and would the SFL obtain a ready made franchise right in the heart of SFL country? Before you say "no," keep in mind that earlier this year the UFL quietly let their trademarks and patents expire for the New York Sentinels and the California Redwoods. It wouldn't be a stretch to see them let the Tusker branding expire as well. The SFL is all about "cost saving" (I'm putting that gently) and it's expectations don't seem real high when it comes to attendance just yet as well. So perhaps an Orlando franchise could be had for a lot less than some of their other proposed franchises, right?

Where would they play?

Where would they play? Well given the fact the Coyotes are willing to play at an old stadium that seats less than 7.000 I think it would open up alot more possibilities than the UFL was willing to consider. The Citrus bowl as we know charges too much, and UCF's stadium might be out as well. But how many other stadiums in the Orldando area are there that might be willing to have the SFL there? I really don't know. But some on here do.

I would love to see the second coming of the Tuskers, in any league I really had an attachment to that team Don't click it Picking up the Colonials wouldn't be a bad either

I'm not so sure the UFL is quite done with the Hartford market or the Colonials franchise. if they survive I think the UFL would possibly restart them in 2012 or later. But given the bad taste they left in the mouths of Tuskers fans and all the unpaid debt in the area the UFL would probably be more than happy to quietly liquidate their Tuskes assets. So having all the trimmings of a pro team just sitting there in storage along with the fact that it's in a city geographically perfect for a team that's still bussing their players for most games could be a huge savings for the SFL. Or if no venue is available in Orlando then perhaps move them to Pensacola or Tallahassee. Not being a Floridian it's hard for me to say where would work best. But all i know is the SFL has a unique chance to create a new franchise for pennies on the dollar compared to starting from scratch. And it could be with a team that already has a built in fanbase. If even half the UFL Florida Tuskers fans stayed faithful to the new SFL Florida Tuskers that fanbase would be larger than the rest of the league combined by a wide margin.

I have always thought they should have tried in Tallahassee. The big bend region of Florida is football crazy. The FAMU stadium seats 25,500

If they don't want t alot of fans Orlando would be great. I know of the Citrus Bowl, Disney Stadium, and UCF, but all seem to be too much seating and or money. I lived there for about 5 months, but I don't know what else there is.
Is there bigger high school stadiums around town?

Remember, you're talking a name Florida Tuskers, which could constitute just about anywhere in the state. Also note: baseball holds spring training in Florida so there's no shortage of minor-league stadiums. What concerns me about Orlando isn't so much the seating issue at the Citrus Bowl (if they really needed to they could just close off the upper decks) or financing (it's an empty unused stadium-- how much could it seriously cost?) but its proximity to Daytona Beach. Keep in mind that Tampa Bay and Orlando, other than the USFL and arena football, do not duplicate their sports teams: MLB, NFL and NHL are in Tampa Bay, and NBA is in Orlando. Even the Tuskers split their time between the two in 2009.
What the SFL should consider is putting a team on the west coast of Florida, like a Tampa Bay area. Clearwater, Sarasota and Bradenton all have spring training stadiums that could fairly easily be adapted for SFL football.

The problem is that, after this year, the SFL intends to be a spring league. I doubt the cites are going to want to switch from baseball to football and back. I think we'd need a football specific stadium.
I do like the idea of the west coast of Florida. Maybe Sarasota or Naples.

I say if they do bring back the Tuskers, they should keep them in Orlando. I'm sure they could find a highschool stadium to play at.
