At 1st the sfl was schedule to kick of march of 2012. With the nfl lockout holding fans from football the sfl tried to push the season up to the summer of 2011. As we all know now the league was far from ready.
not only was the league not ready for play it had all it's chips in on the lock out. Then the lock out was over. This took a major hit on the sfl and fans had their football back and drop the sfl like a rebound chick. It was never the planed for the sfl to play this late in the year as all football fans have the nfl cfl and ncaa. At this point the sfl had to fold it's cards to fight another day.
2011. Some teams played 2 games some play 4 games. This season was to start to test the football market in the city witch the sfl felt teams could build a big fan base in those markets.
The sfl has learn greatly from this 1st low budget season and is ready to rebuild this league from the floor up.
2012. One of the reasons for the shorted 2011 season is not to suck anymore money out of the new business plan for 2012. The sfl will hit it running in 2012 with at least 8 teams better player salaries and way better advertising and media outlets. This time next year we all will be very proud of the changes that were made and the way the league is headed and we can open our harts up to sfl and know we won't be hurt like those other league have done us in the past. I asure you change is coming. This wil be a great league. We just have to break it and rebuild it.
New orleans will play this weekend win and they will be the champions lose and it goes to daytona.

So the UFL wasn't the only ones putting their money on the NFL lockout.
I'm sure there are some who would say haven't we heard this before? (NUSFL anyone?). But you all get credit for actually putting on games. That counts for something, even if it was the most convoluted season we've ever seen.
We are willing to support this if we believe you are really trying. All we ask is that you don't lie to us. That should be rule #1 of a new league, don't lie to the fans. We can see you did try, so keep it up!

Hey jazzfan, this is the league synopsis we've all been waiting here for since this board started. Somebody from the league who could be honest, straightforward, and upfront about what was going on with the SFL. Your openess and candor will start the process of building a loyal fanbase, at least with me. Like broncofan alluded to, we're all sick of lies and evasive non-answers we've all apparently experienced with other alternative leagues in the past. What could really endear the SFL to its fans would be a league that can trust its fans to be intelligent human beings who know when they're being bs'd or not being told the truth. Be straight with us and you'll keep us as loyal fans who will tell others who will become fans as well. thanks for the update. The only two questions I have at this point are 1) exactly what time frame is the SFL looking at for their season? February/March/April? March/April/May? April/May/June? And 2) is it realistic to expect all 8 teams coming on line next year from the investor standpoint? Your post on here gives me alot of hope that the SFL may just be able to pull this pro spring football thing off if they work on constantly improving the talent, keep the costs down, and get the word out that this league is here to stay. I wish you and all those involved in the SFL good luck and a bright future.

Someone who just won the Powerball, I guess, and wants to blow some cash on a pro football team?

nope no trophy or anything looks just like a pat on the back and good job and just knowing you had the best record. unless the team does somethin on its own.

Pride? Money? (probably not) Hopes that a scout will see them? Fun?

No trophy? Then what the hell are the players playing for? I would guess they play for the hope of getting a professional football career moving. Obviously not about the money. Plus love of the game I imagine. I would hope that if the SFL lasts they will go back and retroactively give them a trophy, rings, or both.

By me playing in the SFL with Daytona, I continue to have people call me asking how they can support the teamor sponsor the team? I got those a lot while I was with the Racers. I always told them not to bother because, I would never allow them to support a HC like that. I'm continuing to get calls asking if they are putting in a team in Orlando? I told them idk, I would hope so. It wouldbea smart move. I would love to coach that team if it were ever possible. I called the league office and it no longer has the league greeting or prompts. I wanted to discuss with Pete about possibly putting a team in Orlando. I wouldmake his job a lot easier. Idk about a buyer but I know a lot of compamnies and business's that would quickly job on board to make the team a hit in the community. Orlandois starving for a outdoor team that is done right. So if Pete reads this, hit me up. Let's talk, I hope that the number changing or that the prompt is gone that the leaguue isn't folding? Would bea shame, he just needs the right people in charge of these teams. I would be one of those right people to takeover a team.
