Has anyone heard about this League? I just found out that a college in my home town has joined this league and are playing against teams like Army, Navy,Princeton. Has anyone been to a game? www.sprintfootball.com/

It's an oldie, been around for many, many years. It's basically college football for the normal-sized people (and those are getting harder and harder to come by these days!). Never been to a game, but it's a cool concept. If the NCAA is the heavyweight class, the CSFL is the featherweight class.

It sounds cool. A college in my home town just started a team and I found some video and news clips on it. I might post some links, so be prepared when I find something like this I tend to go overboard on letting others know about it.

This is from a little paper called "The Mercury" Serving Pottstown PA and the Tri County Area.
In the Collegiate Sprint Football League, Penn (2-1, 3-1) got three catches for 47 yards from Andrew Donald (Hill School) in a 39-14 win over Mansfield. The Mountaineers (1-4, 1-4) got two sacks and seven tackles overall from Paul Houseknecht (Boyertown). … Cornell (2-2, 2-2) got two tackles from Chris Sitko (Hill School), but came up well short of unbeaten Army, 41-16. … Princeton (0-4, 0-5) backup quarterback Bob Dougherty (Hill School) was sacked four times and completed just 1 of 4 passes for six yards in a 48-0 loss to Post University.

Why do they not have a pro league like this, or semi pro for that matter. If I want to play semi-pro here in Ohio I have to go up against ex college players and 300 pound lineman

If I want to play semi-pro here in Ohio I have to go up against ex college players and 300 pound lineman I agree maybe the SFL would be the pro "Sprint" league. The thing with the CSFL is there are only seven schools in the league and there all on the East Coast. If the could get more schools in the middle of the country on board and then have a West Coast Division I could see it going Semi-pro or even pro. So, I think I might drop a hint on the SFL Facebook page for them to take a look at guys like this Johnson kid that plays with Army. It could be good for them to pull from an "untapped" source.

The other thing I notice is that all of the CSFL schools are private colleges and universities, other than the two military academies, so you're talking a very small group of socially elite players from which you're drawing.

WOW! The replies to this thread have been great. I hear what your saying Mr. Fuller, but just because they are a "very small socially elite" group does not mean they can't or should not be allowed the opportunity to play pro. And if you look at the web site for Post University www.posteagles.com/index.aspx?path=sprtftb&tab=sprintfootballyou'll see a diverse group of students from all walks of life. I think the SFL could draft some of these guys and make it work.

Here's another article from Penn. www.pennathletics.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1700&ATCLID=205319520PHILADELPHIA - Following its most complete game of the year, sprint football will be back in front of the home crowd Friday night for one more time this season. Senior Night will see the Quakers (3-1, 2-1 CSFL) take on Cornell (2-2, 2-2 CSFL) at 7 p.m. This will not only serve as a key matchup between two schools battling for the William R. Wagner Trophy, but it will serve as the final home game in the careers of eight outgoing seniors. Todd Busler, Mike Mele, Matt Cuccinello, Mathew Wetherell, Antony Krumbhaar, Justin Bass, Brandon Batzel, and Kamil Okroj will each be honored in the pregame festivities before taking part in their final game at Franklin Field. The Penn Sports Network will be providing live video coverage of all the action. Live stats will also be available. SFL should look at drafting some of these guys.

Here is a blurb about the QB from Post University. I said it before the SFL should get in touch with these guys and consider drafting them.
PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 7, 2011) Despite 35 second half points, the Eagles fell short of defeating the University of Pennsylvania Friday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia 48-35. Eagle quarterback Dwayne Carter threw for 306 yards, had 57 yards rushing, and scored one touchdown in the game.

OK, you guys have to let me know if I'm going overboard with this. Like I had mentioned when I find something that interests me I tend to "trumpet" that to as many people as possible,(it bugs the heck out of my wife) but anyway here is an article from the Post website about the up coming game against Army. If Post wins that will be a HUGE upset. Army though has some insane numbers. I'll give you the info when it is made available. www.posteagles.com/news/2011/10/19/SPRTFTB_1019115938.aspxAnd yes I'm rooting for POST!
