Post University Sprint Football Announce Seven-Game Schedule For 2012 www.posteagles.com/news/2012/5/29/SPRTFTB_0529123029.aspxWATERBURY, Conn. – Post University and the department of athletics announced the 2012 sprint football schedule on Tuesday. A seven-game slate, the Eagles will play a program-record four home games at LaMoy Field and take on Army in the eighth annual Allegiance Bowl in Saratoga, N.Y., to open their Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) season on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. Link from the CSFL website showing all games for the 2012 season. The thing I don't get is, with such a small league, why would you have bye weeks for teams? Can someone explain why this is the case? www.sprintfootball.com/p3_schedule_and_statistics.jsp

(See, for instance, the Canadian Football League, which has the same number of teams.) That, and up until 2008 (and again the past two years) there've been an odd number of teams in the league so they may have just gotten used to the whole idea of byes.

So I decided to start a Facebook page for the league since one did not exist. If someone from the league wants to take it over and run it great. Until then I'll post info and scores from the season. www.facebook.com/pages/Colleg...07898672630756

Hey Guys long time no post. The Collegiate sprint football league has kicked off for 2012. If you have not liked the Facebook page come check it out. I've been given permission FROM THE LEAGUE :-) to run it, so I'll be posting the latest scores and highlights. New team this year Franklin Pierce in New Hampshire. Their games don't go toward the standings until next year and they don't play Army or Navy, the two best teams, until next year as well. So stop by and post away it should be a great season. Their was also some talk in an article about sprint football heading west if there was an interest. I may start up a "West Coast Sprint Football League" Facebook. www.facebook.com/pages/Collegiate-Sprint-Football-League/307898672630756#

Very nice. You know, if I got back down to playing weight I could probably qualify for something like this, and considering I played offensive line this would be right up my alley. Right now I'm about 15 lbs. over. Of course, I've already graduated college so it's all hypothetical. But still.

This league is great. It's good, fast football and these guys that are 172 pounds in all the stuff I've read they say "I have to GET DOWN TO PLAYING WEIGHT" So they are normally above that. If the SFL would look at some of these guys that are on the higher end of the weight limit I bet they can easily put on 20 to 30 pounds of muscle and play at the semi pro level of the SFL. I would even go as far as being able to play in the UFL.

Great article from my hometown paper about Post U. possibly winning out and finishing third in the league with a 5-2 record. They lost to Army and Navy the two best teams in the league. I think they should play each team twice so you can get a second chance and not have to wait till next year. www.rep-am.com/sports/college/679089.txt

It's really what separates it from the professional sports; there's more emphasis on making sure you get it right in the regular season because the margin for error is too small to count on backing into the playoffs.

Well, the season has ended with Army winning the title. They beat Navy in the Championship Game. Post went on a tear, they lost their first two games to Army and Navy and then beat everyone else. They ended the season with a record of 5-2. If they can keep most of their guys for next year they should be able to give Army and Navy a run for their money. It was fun running the league Facebook page. I'm hoping to get in touch with the comish from the league and have him post a "note to the fans" I hope you guys enjoyed all the coverage. On to others things. Like the American West Baseball League. www.americanwestbl.com/# They are putting teams in the south west and I'm gonna try and get the OK to start a Facebook page for the North County Cannons. Thanks again for humoring me in regards to this thread.
