Probably too small. The league is saying they want 10k to 30k capacity, and wikipedia lists Balboa as only 3000.

Given the Locos experience I'm gonna guess the SFL is gonna scrap their idea of a Vegas team as well.....

Wouldn't that be a hoot, if an SFL team could outdraw the Loco's!

Balboa could be expanded or use standing room. It used to host the NFL so there's definitely room to expand. Besides, I don't think there'd be too much of a concern about it being too small after last year's "crowds!"

Start off small, lots of advertising, play up the Balboa Stadium history thing. Playing in the spring would not offend or take away from the Chargers and would bring more football to the area.

Perhaps they could substitue San Diego for LA. Still a good rival if they go ahead with that vegas team.

I just had an epiphany! There is a women's tackle football team called the San Diego Surge. sandiegosurge.com/welcome/If the owners of this team were to start a team in the SFL the Surge name and logo can be used and they could have both teams playing at Balboa Stadium. From the info on their site it looks like they have a good business plan set up, and they took their team to the championship game only to loose to Boston. The team was 11-1. Now I know it's not the same as football being played by guys, but, I'm thinking if they can coach and put together a winning team in the WFA then I would think they could do the same thing in the SFL? What say you?
