A few days ago on the New Orleans Jazz' Facebook page there was a post for the National Diamond Football League, which supposedly would begin play in the Spring of 2013. Did anyone else see this? When I went to copy and paste the link here it was gone. Weird.

You have to be kidding me. I did not see this however, this is bogus. People need to leave their egos behind and form a league that will actually work...

Could have just been a joke I suppose. Course if we could just get one league really up and running, maybe that would take care of it.

I know there are lots and lots of talented players out there who go undrafted by the NFL. But if every one of these leagues out there actually fielded 8,10,12 teams apiece I think at some point The level of play would be painful to watch. Hopefully the SFL expands and it upgrades its level of play first before we get 3 or 4 more lower tier pro leagues going.

I only saw a few that played in college, I could be wrong though

So now the National Diamond Football league has their own Facebook page, which they describe as their "temporary website." Guess it wasn't just a prank on the New Orleans jazz Facebook page when it was posted awhile back. The Jazz even "liked' them on their page. Well someone evidently thinks this is a good idea to push ahead with.......
edit: for whatever reason i couldn't get the link to work, sorry.

Wow, their mission statement may be the longest single sentence ever attempted in the English language lol. But I must say they've got it all laid out. Playoffs, season schedule, even an all star game! Not sure how they're gonna pull that off having a double header the day of the Championship game. I guess the "All-Stars" can only come from the teams that don't make the championship. Unless they plan to play them both games that day!

The mission statement does look like it was written by someone who posts on boards, doesn't it! ;D I was wondering about the All-Star game as well. The way I read it, they would play the All-Star game first, then play the Championship game that same day. Not sure how that would work, and if you were part of the Championship game, why you'd want your players in the All-Star game. I think someone just thought this sounded cool and hasn't thought it out yet. They did put in that everything was subject to change.

I have seen other semi-pro leagues do this. They know there is not a lot of people at the games so they try and get as many as they can on this one day, rather than two. They know NO ONE will go to the all-star game except families, so why not get all the families to show up on championship day. Less money wasted this way

So is this a semi pro league? no I have read that semi-pro teams are jumping up to the "pro" level, so at least some if not all players will get paid.
