Blacksburg is 45 minutes away from Salem, a league like this won't draw from that far away. An argument can be made with Roanoke for the same reason, although it is much closer (15-20 mins).
Bottom line: Unless they make big strides in advertisement this upcoming season, its pointless to expect them to draw from outside their immediate market. Frankly the quality of football this year sucked, big time, people won't be willing to travel to see a game. They must place teams in cities where the small percentage of people willing to go watch the games will be enough to make the team profitable or at least break-even.

In reguards to Mich. the league does need 2-3 teams in nieghboring states or realign the league to the South, New Orleans, 2 teams in Fla. & maybe teams in Charleston,Birmingham,Chattanooga The SFL should stay out of the west, unless they can have at least 3 teams in a western division; Vegas, Portland, El Paso

(UFLfanWV on UFLA, I mostly lurked)
I'd like to see a team in Wheeling or Charleston. Charleston has Laidley Field which seats 18,000, and Wheeling Island Stadium seats 10,000. If the league is looking for a "bigger" market, Charleston probably be the closest the league would get in WV. I think WV would really embrace a team.

I think you actually could be right, WVA has a long history of supporting their football and the SFL might be a good fit for Charlseton. As you read on here there's alot of possibilities for the SFL that the UFL would've never considered in terms of expansion cities...
